Maple Grove Hot Springs and Retreat Center is a 45 acre, fully off-grid eco center along the Bear River and Oneida Narrows Reservoir.  We offer 6 hot spring pools, a 30’ group retreat yurt, creative accommodations in stone shelters, yurts, cabins and camping for over 30 guests, riverfront beach, hiking trails, paddleboard/kayak rentals, reception lodge/bathhouse, and more.

Maple Grove Events Manager

As a hot springs retreat center focussed on education and wellness, we produce and host a range of experiences from daily yoga, hikes, workshops, retreats, corporate trainings, weddings, and special ceremonies. As our lead experience designer and events manager, you will be tasked to creatively design and project manage each experience from start to finish. You'll work closely retreat clients, participants, our hosting teams and General Manager to design and execute experiences that truly are one-of-a-kind.

Work Schedule:       15-30 hrs/week with 2-6 days onsite/Month. Potential for full-time role

Start Date:               ASAP

Location:                  Remote - Ideally based in surrounding towns,  Logan, UT, or Salt Lake City /    Jackson Hole

 

Key Responsibilities

Experience Design

  • Work closely with General Manager to design all guest facing offerings which include but are not limited to: yoga classes, hikes, wellness workshops, culinary events, concerts, and more.

  • Directly supervise and be accountable for all aspects of guest facing experiences onsite through team trainings, direct onsite event direction, and constant program evaluation.

  • Maintain and builds relationships with event related partners, practitioners, caterers and stakeholders. 

  • Coach retreat, workshop, and wedding clients towards a smooth and transformative event experience. Lend creative consultation where needed. 

 

Guest/Client Management

  • Interact with guests to ensure total satisfaction with events and experiences. 

  • Manage outbound and inbound retreat and event inquiries and customer service.

  • Ensure accurate communication of information to guests/hosts regarding resort services, facilities and operating hours, as well as provision of appropriate collateral materials to guests as needed

  • Onsite event production

 

Event Production

  • Ensure the successful production of each and every event through team trainings, property design, and onsite event production. 

  • Staging, design, experience customization, and site transformation are all creative opportunities in your wheelhouse. 

 

Office Administration

  • Manage event budgets, pricing, invoicing, and payments. 

 

Requirements:

  • Exceptional customer service skills, responsible and mature, and enjoy working with people

  • Experience managing detail oriented clients,  volunteers & team members

  • Must be easily adaptable to shifting of work loads and specific tasks

  • Live and work in remote and at times extreme outdoor conditions (rain, sun, snow)

  • Pass background check

  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs

 

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience in event design, production and management.

  • Experience working in eco-tourism, guest hospitality, or a related customer service field a plus.

  • BA/BS degree in eco-tourism, outdoor recreation, sustainability, environmental education, and/or small business is awesome but not necessary. 

  • Additional preference given to certified yoga instructors, experience producing retreats, workshops, and or weddings. 

 

Compensation:

  • Hourly base pay starting at $20/hr with event commissions and bonuses

  • Free on-site housing with approved ability to host friends and family 

  • Tip matching (total monthly tips + match range between $300-$500+)

  • Monthly accruing PTO 

  • Quarterly educational professional development grant.
