All these years later, we remain largely fueled, staffed, supported, and inspired by one underlying motivation - we all go to pretty great lengths to sit in hot water.
Truthfully, the origin of our entire take at business was really a means to one soggy end of simply wanting to sit in mineral pools and not see a magical place go to ruin.
Now 5 years later, here we are, still scheming alongside you all as guests to preserve and partake in what feels like a public responsibility.
Over the years, we've scrappily bootstrapped each season by closing in the Spring to tackle a range of improvements with friends, amazing contractors, gracious partners, and YOU.
That's right, when we close for projects, guests are invited to blur the line between customer and contributor.
Over the years, hundreds of guests have signed up for our project and Summer volunteer days where, in exchange for 6 hrs of work, you get to camp for free and soak up the land during closure.
Being here when we are closed is a surreal experience.
Time sort of disappears and we all drift into an almost childlike state of total presence. We work the land, we try new things, we learn new skills. We nap when we need to. We eat when it feels right. We swim in the river and soak in the pools. Together, we push the boundaries of what's possible in a few days and, together, we bask in the joy of contributing to something that will outlast us all.
This year, we are taking a gentle approach to projects. In lue of months of closure, we are closing mid week between April 9-12, 16-19 and always on Wed. During those times, you can sign up to take a look under the hood, camp for free, and EARN YOUR SOAK!
Every year is a tall order of surprises, failures, long overdue improvements and hastily thought up creations. And, whether you knew it or not, its only possible TOGETHER.
