Of late, it feels hard to talk or think about the small comings & goings of our relatively safe & predictable patterns.
Today, we woke up and soaked in 107 F mineral water surrounded by what feels like the safest place on Earth.
At the same time, mothers and fathers who happened to birth children while living in an arbitrarily drawn boundary called Gaza, woke up to the 26th day of bombing only to find that their small boy would need his limbs amputated without any anesthesia on the floor of a crowded hospital.
They would hold his small sister close as she watched, not because she needed to see it but because she would be next and there was no other place to sit.
Other Palestinian parents, not unlike you and I, wouldn’t be so lucky. Today, they will bury their children.
What were you for Halloween? What TV will you get on Black Friday? Which car will you take to work?
Of late, it feels hard to talk or think about small things…
The roots of war can be complicated but the experience of it is not. It’s painfully straightforward. It’s HUMAN LIFE.
If you have not been struggling while thinking about the small things in our safe lives, your duty is to look up and bear witness, even if just for a moment.
On Oct 7th, Hamas militants shockingly murdered 1400 Israeli’s in their moment of safety. Another 200+ held as hostages.

And then, as we so un shockingly do, we blindly adorn the fog of war and make matters infinitely worse. The unbridled retaliation that followed has now taken over 9,000 Palestinian lives, mostly innocent civilians, of whom 3,648 are children.
This must stop. There is no number of deaths that evens things out. There is no balance in war.
As a space rooted in safety, we encourage anyone who finds solace here to FIGHT FOR IT THERE by contacting your elected officials and begging them to support a CEASEFIRE immediately before any more families are forever shaken up.
If they can bury their newborn today, we can certainly make a phone call and sign a petition (in our bio)
War must be looked at. It must be witnessed. And what we see is that an unhinged war targeting families must be opposed.
Until you are safe, we are not safe.
