Too hot for hot springs? 104 F days in the middle of Summer, to the untrained Maple Grove hot springer, may erroneously invite the question, "But are hot springs really a Summer thing?"
While there is truly only one way to find out, here are our top 10 reasons that, on our river bend at least, , it's NEVER TOO HOT FOR HOT SPRINGS.
10) Hammock naps. It's definitely a thing.
9) Long conversations under natural tree shade without cell service, wifi, notifications, or a watch. Next to our hot springs, the most important thing we offer is a digital-detox environment.
8) Canoe adventures up or down river for up to 8 miles of slow moving river. Our property canoe is available for free for all day visitors and nightly guests.
7) Hang time with the crew under the Grandmother Tree.
6) Dip-the-toes kind of book reading. With limited guests in our reservation-based soaking sessions, our pools tend to be quiet places for reading, resting, gentle conversations, and a whole lot of thinking. Silence in our pools is from sundown to sun-up.
5) Paddle boarding to, you know, "work the core". Guests are encouraged to bring their own human-powered recreational water crafts for use in the several mile long reservoir just feet from the pools. We rent paddle-boards onsite on a first come first serve basis.
4) River dips along our mile stretch of the Bear River as it creates the gentle Oneida Narrows Reservoir.
3) Daily morning yoga on the Gathering Lawn. All guests get access to near daily offerings of yoga as part of their soaking pass or nightly stay. Classes take place in a range of venues that include our Gathering Lawn, our Aquatic Gathering Pools (thats right, water yoga!) and in our Forest Yurt for evening classes. Explore our events calendar to see the complete schedule.
2) Float the Narrows with a tubing day trip 15 min away. In partnership with Family Fun Tubing, we offer a select schedule of Summer tubing shuttles straight from the property. Float passes include tube rentals, shuttle service and a half day of soaking. Our experiences calendar includes all of our upcoming floats!
1) And, obviously in first place is HOT SPRINGS!!! Rain or shine, hot or cold, the ritual of naps to pools to river to pools to books to pools to snacks to pools to more naps to pools to yoga, river dip, then pools is a weather proof remedy for hot summer days.
In our view, why go to a beach or a lake or a pool when you can have all three PLUS HOT SPRINGS?!
